A few months ago I was asked to be a guest on The Chrissy B Show, which is an evening talk show on Sky channel 203. On the programme they mainly discuss relationship and health related issues, and seemed to think that my DV story was perfect for it! Of course I accepted their invitation, as I want to broadcast my story on as many outlets as possible to both help others and of course I can admit that part of me wants my abuser to see, and know that I am speaking out and not ashamed of what I went through!
I was a tiny bit nervous as I had never done a face to face interview about such a sensitive topic before, but the crew and other guests were so lovely that soon I just felt excitement. Once I started talking, I couldn’t stop and after my 10 minutes of talk time they had to interrupt which was a shame as I was really getting into it, impersonating my ex’s schizophrenic voices and everything! The interview was mainly about how I managed to break free of the abuse, and how it affected my views on relationships etc.The presenter, Chrissy was lovely and there was some bloke who I think was a doctor who was pretty cool too.
I would love to go back on the show again, maybe in 6 months to discuss how far my life has come as by that time I will have been full “No Contact” with my ex for a whole year! *Nudge, nudge, hint hint if anyone from the production team is reading this*
